COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
GASKET, RUBBER, SYNTHETIC
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description (CID) as a replacement for MS52000A, which is canceled.
ABSTRACT
This CID covers a synthetic, rubber gasket used between electric receptacle connectors. Gasket is intended to be used for wall and box mounting.
SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
a. Design and construction. The design and construction of the gasket shall be in accordance with figure 1.
b. Materials. Gaskets shall be made of materials conforming to rubber M2BC815 Grade SC8151E3 per ASTM D2000. The use of recovered materials made in compliance with regulatory requirements is acceptable providing that all requirements of this CID are met (see note e).
c. Identification markings. Identification markings shall be permanent and legible and shall include, as a minimum, the manufacturer’s identification code (CAGE) and part number, military part identification number (PIN), and the date of manufacture/cure date (see note b).
d. Responsibility for inspection. The contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspections (examinations and tests).
