DETAIL SPECIFICATION
Packing, Preformed, Petroleum Hydraulic
Fluid Resistant, 160°F (71°C)
Inactive for new design after 25 September 1980
This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of
Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers preformed packings for use where resistance to hydraulic
fluid conforming to specification MIL-PRF-5606 is required at temperatures from -65° to 160°F
(-54° to 71°C).
1.2 Classification. Packings are made from the following class of synthetic rubber as specified
(see 6.2).
Class A - Low Flexibility
Note: Class B (High Flexibility) has been canceled and replaced by MIL-P-25732.
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1 General. The documents listed in this section are specified in sections 3, 4, or 5 of this
standard. This section does not include documents cited in other sections of this standard or
recommended for additional information or as examples. While every effort has been made to
